Cake Ingredients

We make all our cakes to order, that means that they are being baked after you place your order- no frozen cakes here! Everything is made from scratch as well. This means no mixes, nothing artificial, no prepackaged buttercreams or fillings, absolutely no compromises. We use only the freshest ingredients possible. We pride ourselves in cakes whose beautiful exterior is surpassed only by the most delicious interior.

Flavors

Since our cakes are made to order, if you are interested in a flavor that is not listed let us know, we will do everything we can to make it for you.

Colors

Perfect color matches between edible products and paper or fabric dyes is impossible and can’t be guaranteed. To make color match, as close as possible, please provide actual color samples or materials. Digital photographs can’t be depended on for accurate color matches.

Location

We are a home-based business located in Salisbury, NC. We are open by appointment only. Please call for address and directions.

Delivery

Delivery fees are calculated based on distance. If you prefer we can arrange for the cake to be picked-up as well.

Things to keep in mind for pick-ups:        

1- You’ll need a flat surface to set the cake on.                                                                                                                                                                    

2- No sudden stops or sharp turns.      

Cakes are kept refrigerated until they are delivered or picked up. Once the cake leaves our possession we cannot guarantee the cake will not be damaged, sweat, color-bleed, collapse or melt. The Cake Attic is not responsible for any damage that occurs to any client transported cake once it has left our shop or set up cake once it has been delivered.     

Deposits

Any custom cake over $100 will require a 50% deposit at time of order. Balances must be paid two weeks prior to delivery.

Method of Payment

We accept cash, personal checks and cashier checks. No credit cards.

Ordering

 We like to have as much lead time as possible recommend 4-6 weeks, but for weddings we suggest six months to one year.

We definitely attempt to accommodate last minute requests if our schedule allows.  Please call or email to find out our availability for your particular date.

Changes

If you would like to change any details of your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your change, but may not always be able to do so due to time constraints.

Last Minute Orders

I understand that there is such a thing as a last minute wedding or that a baker may fall through at the eleventh hour. If you are without a cake a couple of weeks or even days before the wedding, we may be able to help depending on our schedule. Due to time constraints you may be limited as to flavors and decorations, but I am confident we can come up with something appropriate and gorgeous for the occasion as well as delectable. A rush fee will apply and a cash payment will need to be made in full at the initial consultation.

Prices

Prices start at $4 per serving for buttercream cakes and $5 per serving for fondant cakes and go up depending on materials and ingredients chosen, level of detail work and difficulty of design.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

In the event of cancellation:

1- All requests for cancellation must be made in writing.
2- If a cancellation is received more than eight weeks prior to the promised delivery date, the aforementioned deposit will be refunded less $100 administrative fee.
3- If a cancellation is received less than eight weeks prior to the promised delivery date, the aforementioned deposit is forfeited.
